This record player was manufactured in 1957 by DUAL, Gebr. Steindinger,St. Georgen/Schwartzwald in Germany. It is a portable table model with built-in tube amplifier (tube ECL82). The speaker is in the cover. Connection on the back side of the amplifier which also has a compartment with spare fuses and a fuse holder. Record player plays excellently, has four speeds being 16/33/45/78 rpm, so suitable for LPs, singles and 78 rpm records. The 16 rpm records usually contain spoken word and are not often found. Cartridge has 2 needles “M” for LPs/Singles and “N” for 78 rpm. Slider upwards is “M” and down is “N”. Three buttons on the front side of which the middle is the on/off switch/volume control. The luxurious and special thing is, and what you almost never see on record players from that time, is the tone control which can be set using two knobs. The first is the bass tone control and third treble tone control. This allows for a beautiful reproduction. A few more nice benefits.
