Barn find? No, it came from the attic... Always owned by an elderly lady, for real. She got it at the age of 16 in 1971 and was stored in the attic since 1988. It is still fitted with the 1st front tyre which is in good condition. The clutch cover is ‘fatigued’ and the clutch plate of the Anker block still works, but not for long. Still available though... The tank is not corroded but is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Despite the emphasis on its ‘flaws’, this moped is in very neat condition. The Batavus advertisement on the amazing ‘Niros chrome and Taurus paint’ became true. It was left alone for all this time. It would be even greater if this was a Whippet. Very affordable as a Batavette. Marked with type number B 8101 and it is entirely original. It won’t go faster than 38, you could register it as a ‘motor-assisted bicycle’.
