In this series of 'Four Seasons' Mucha presents on this occasion four women, who symbolize the different seasons of the year. Each of them is located in a natural environment and is surrounded by a complex decorative frame, which resembles a Gothic window.
Alphonse Mucha saw the woman and the feminine as a counterpoint to the coldness of the industrial revolution!
