Many documents, invoices and two keys available. The former owner had a deep passion for old Volvos and had several P1800s and Amazons that were all in top condition. He also wrote down in great detail what work had been carried out on his cars. This is also present. Like most ES versions, this car was sold new in America. However, the speedometer has been replaced to km/h instead of miles, and the gear in the gearbox for this speedometer has been adjusted to kilometers instead of miles. The American side lights at the front and rear are also very nicely removed. This is an older restoration that was carried out down to the last detail and you can still notice this to this day. The last owner also maintained the car very well and replaced many parts. The first owner lived in Los Angeles, California and bought the car new in Illinois. The 2nd owner - since 1984 - also lived in California. A man from Knokke-Heist, Belgium and the manager of Soulsister (a popular Belgian rock band) were the 3rd owners together, they had imported the car to Belgium. The last owner from Sint-Gillis-Waas was the 4th owner since 3/07/2013, the car was purchased at Oldtimerfarm in Aalter. This can all be demonstrated in the existing documents. There is also email traffic between the last and second owner. The engine has been partly overhauled and can now run on unleaded petrol. This car has already been approved for sale by Belgian technical inspection (on 13/09/2023) The bodywork is in very good condition, except for one point: the original antenna was concealed, and where it was there is a bubble. No rust anywhere else to be found. All rubbers on the doors, hood and trunk have been replaced. The car is completely dry underneath, there are no leaks. Also no rust. The following maintenance and/or replacements of parts have been executed: A new master brake cylinder and brake booster and brake fluid have been installed. The cylinder head has bee overhauled and an engine gasket set was installed. Also new oil was added and and oil filter was installed as well as a gearbox gasket set and gearbox oil. A new cold start valve was installed The fuel system was completely overhauled with new injectors, new floats, a new fuel gauge, new fuel lines and a new fuel filter. The engine cooling system received new radiator hoses and a clamp set including a new thermostat and gasket. The exhaust pipe was completely renewed with an exhaust line from the collector. All brackets and mounting rubbers of the center and rear silencer are new. From the electrical part a new distributor, rotor, spark plug cables and spark plugs were installed including a new coil, battery, and alternator. The interior received new upholstery and a new carpet set. Furthermore the car received a new speedometer cable, the speedometer ws changed from miles to kilometers as well as the gears in gearbox. Also a new kick-down cable, new rear window pumps and aCD changer (nicely concealed in the trunk) were installed. Last but not least a new chrome grille was installed. The car has many documents. The documents present are: Registration documents, old registration from America, certificate of conformity, the inspection before sale, an application for registration (in Belgium)and the Car Pass Also a lot of documentation about parts, special tools, adjusting and replacing certain parts, carrying out maintenance, electrical diagram, press articles, technical data, etc. are present. Being a very well documented car the car also comes with old pictures, extensive notes of all work and costs on the car, insurance documents, road taxes, etc. The last owner literally kept track of everything On the digital documentation side the car comes with a users manual, email traffic between the last and second owner and a DVD with the history of Volvo and interesting documentaries The car can be viewed in Geraardsbergen, Belgium.
