Mercedes W140 600 SEL from 1992 Chassis number: WDB140 057 1A038137 Engine: M120 6.0 liter V12 – 408 hp and 580 Nm Gearbox: Automatic Kilometers: 110000 km The W140 is the Mercedes S-Class that was produced from 1991 to 1998. This series was nicknamed Der Kathedral, because of the size of the model. The W140 introduced innovations such as double glazing, power-assisted closing (soft close) for doors and trunk, parking marker bars that lifted from the rear when parking (no longer available on later vehicles, replaced by electronic parking assistance function) and a heating system that continued to emit warm air when desired after the engine was turned off. This car has only 110,000 km on the odometer. The car was delivered new in Japan and then served in Dubai as an embassy car. In 2021 the car was imported to Belgium where it is currently registered since February 2023, so the last technical inspection was also in February 2023. It has recently received a very thorough maintenance and all technical matters have been checked and addressed where necessary. The hood was repainted this summer as it had scratches. The car is completely rust-free, including the bottom. The many photos from all angles, as well as from the underside, speak for themselves and show that this car is in very good condition. There are also no leaks at the bottom of the car. When the car arrived in Belgium, the sliding roof was stuck due to sand in the mechanism. The sliding roof and headliner were completely dismantled for thorough cleaning and lubrication. The sliding roof now tilts and slides again perfectly. Until recently, the 'ASR' symbol appeared regularly, causing the car to drive in 'limp mode'. The cause turned out to be poorly functioning throttle valves, a common disease in these cars. The throttle valves were replaced in August 2023 with reconditioned throttle valves, an expensive repair, but the car now drives 100% as it should. All fluids and filters were replaced at the end of 2022, the battery is also new. This 600 drives like a dream, this is the absolute pinnacle of comfort from the 90s. When you accelerate you immediately feel the 408 HP, this is a rocket on wheels. Everything with air pressure works, such as the soft close on all doors and trunk, as well as the parking bars on the trunk. Only the radio (or receiver) needs to be checked, the radio works but has poor signal. All rubbers are in good condition, both bodywork and suspension. The interior is completely original and in top condition, without tears or wholes. Only the wood on the center console is in less good condition.
