Let's all reflect for a moment on the"last iBook model" (before it got replaced by the Macbook in 2006). The iBook G4 – even today – looks modern! Because it's using the same design theme's that Apple stock to ever since. We have: – speaker grills; – a trackpad centered at the bottom of the device; – thoughtful port placement. The "Early 2004" iBook G4 models use the same external housings as the earlier iBook G4 models, but otherwise these systems are quite different. The iBook G4/1.2 has a faster processor, twice the amount and faster RAM, and superior graphics. The iBook G4 also has two Bluetooth 2.0, AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and one Firewire "400" port. The iBook G4 "Early 2004" models additionally include the "Sudden Motion Sensor" technology that stops the hard drive heads from moving if the notebook is dropped, and the "scrolling Trackpad" that allows one to scroll or pan by touching the trackpad with two fingers instead of one (both borrowed from the PowerBook G4 series). // WHAT TO EXPECT? The iBook is in pretty decent shape. Although – as to be expected – the "white plastic" shows some user scratches. But overall it's in very pretty good shape! The inside is … in just the same nice shape as the outside. Of course I did wipe the whole machine down with alcohol and cleaned it thoroughly. And regarding the battery. Even after 20 years. It actually holds a charge (be aware: not for very long … I tested like one hour of so). Thus. Pluging in … is the best thing to do when using this laptop. // IMPORTANT – WHY BUY FROM ME? (instead of other sellers) I am a Mac user from way back in the Legacy Era. I offer Vintage Apple computers as I would buy them myself. My admiration for Steve Jobs' legacy is so great that I want the Macs I sell, to stand "the test of time". Furthermore I only sell items I have "passion" for. Hardware-wise, all my sold computers are completely disassembled, cleaned – and, if necessary, repaired – in order to extend their lifespan. See pictures. Last-but-not-least. Vintage computers … packed with "lots of software" makes RETROCOMPUTING a lot more interesting. // HARDWARE & SOFTWARE It was Steve's vision to intertwine hardware and software. Retro-computing without software is therefore – in my opinion – "meaningless". There are some tiny stains and user traces on this machine. The numerous images are part of the meticulous description. Thus: judge yourself! – the computer works as it should (extensively tested!). The speakers sounds heavenly. Even the CD/DVD-player (often broken) works excellent on this iBook. Last-but-not-least.
