This is the famous mechanical quite rare chess, tournament clock "UMF Ruhla GARDE".
The model was first used during the 14th Chess Olympiad, held in Leipzig in 1960. As an interesting fact, the clock was used in the Parisian scenes of "The Queens Gambit" movie. The clock casing is made of solid mahogany wood. The surface is covered with matte varnish. The caps at the back and the rings around the dials are made of metal. All clock controls and hands are also made of metal. The mechanism is characterized by the highest quality and guaranteed reliability. The "UMF Ruhla GARDE" is widely considered to be one of the finest analog chess clocks ever produced. Used in official championships from 60th to late 90th until digital clocks era came. A must-have for any serious collection.
The clock is in very good vintage condition. The mechanisms are fully functional.
