Manz in Zurich” also states the fineness of the silver and the manufacturer’s signature: “800 DS”. The 24th Federal Shooting Festival took place in Zug from July 9th to July 22nd, 1869. The festival area was located next to the old train station from the area of today's Reformed Church (Alpenstrasse, 6300 Zug) and extended towards the north. The Federal Shooting Festival was carried out by the “Schützengesellschaft der Stadt Zug” (formed in 1868 from the merger of the two shooting societies “Special Rifle Society of the City of Zug” and “General Rifle Society of the City of Zug”) and the president of the central committee was the Zug mayor Karl Josef Merz ( December 15, 1818–April 25, 1886. 1864–1865 and 1868–1869 Zug mayor).
