Dendroidea
These fossils belong to the Cambrian Period (or possibly the Ediacaran) – ca. 510-550 million years ago – from the geological formation of cape Emine, Bulgaria, classifying them as remnants of some of the oldest lifeforms on Earth. The genus belongs to the extinct Graptolites – an ancient colonial organism. This object was discovered in geological layers among which we also found specimens of Yilingia spiciformis and Cambroraster falcatus – two of the oldest known animal species ever discovered.
This specimen tells a long story and represents some of the oldest organisms in the fossil record. It is certainly a worthy addition to any fossil collection.
