徳力富吉郎 Tokuriki Tomikichiro (1902-2000)
1902 Born in Kyoto. Graduated at the top of his class from the Kyoto Municipal School of Arts and Crafts and the School of Painting in 1924. Studied painting under Yamamoto Shunkyo, Tsuchida Baisen, and woodcut under Oiwa Tokuzo. Tokuriki Tomikichiro distinguished himself in Japanese painting and woodcut. He eventually perfected the brilliant multicolor woodblock prints and became a leading figure in the field.
