Watch a video of this specimen by following the Vimeo link below: https://vimeo.com/940326258 Here is the second and last old time (1980's-90's) specimen I have got from the now backfilled Cuetu l'Aspa mine in Berbès, Asturias. This impressive quality double-sided specimen displays on one side an aggregate of intense purple colour cubes with blue hues and zoning, developing over the top in such a way that the other side shows a cluster of three crystals (the main one is 1.7 cm edge) with strong zoning over a bed of sparkling clear quartz. Notice the blue hints inside this purple ocean and the angular colour defect stripe visible in the main cube at the top. You can also see there is a single scalenohedral calcite crystal, which makes for an uncommon combination from Berbès. The colour of the crystals is better brought out when a sheer white light goes through them. An unusual and beautiful specimen from this world famous locality in the Asturias fluorspar district!
