This riotous, Caucasian Karabagh runner rug is a rare collector's item.
The rug features a bold, repeated, geometric twist on what has been interpreted as either a scorpion, a botanical paisley/boteh or a ram's horn. The distinctive Goradis design is the repetition of a single slanting and tapering shape with two curved elements opening like leaves (or scorpion claws, or stylized ram horns) at the larger point. The Goradis design is iconic.
Circa 1880.
Wool on Wool with fabulous colors.
Overall In good condition with mostly full pile. Some old repairs and improvements in the field and outlining areas as well as some general signs of use and aging.
The Rug is ready for use as it is clean.
