Etienne Pixa

Étienne Pixa (born 1971, Strasbourg, France) is a French-German artist based in Berlin. Coming from a multi-generational artistic background (artists on both sides of his family), he studied graphic arts in Strasbourg (drawing, advertising, photography) and later attended art school in Berlin. He has worked professionally in graphic design, advertising, and web design since the early 2000s, a background that strongly informs the structure and visual impact of his paintings. Primarily self-taught as a painter, he further developed his practice through painting courses with Suzanne Obrecht (France, 2003–2004) and Frank Pieperhoff (Berlin, 2009–2010). His work navigates between abstraction and figuration, with a strong emphasis on gesture, energy, and chromatic intensity. Selected in 2001 for the Jeunes Talents stand at the international contemporary art fair St’Art (Strasbourg), his works are held in private collections and have been sold internationally across Europe and beyond. As an emerging artist with a consistent and growing body of work, his market prices remain accessible, offering collectors an early acquisition opportunity with long-term appreciation potential.
