My name is Konstantin Danilov (Zmogk). Instagram: zmogk . I am a contemporary artist and muralist, born in Moscow and currently based in Athens, Greece. My artistic journey began in the 1990s when I became one of the pioneers of the Russian graffiti movement. Working with color and form in urban space shaped the foundation of my visual language and continues to influence my practice today. _________________________________________________________________________ My practice focuses on the boundaries between the inner and the outer — within the psyche, society, and the relationship between humans and nature. I am drawn not to conflict, but to transitional spaces between states. Through color, I reveal this tension: it shapes the emotional structure of the work, activates suppressed states, and drives its internal dynamics. I combine abstraction, figural hints, and semi-abstract landscapes to speak simultaneously about the personal and the universal. Color becomes an investigative tool — not only as form, but as an environment that influences perception and the viewer’s state. A key element is the “active perimeter” — color extended onto the edges of the canvas, operating within peripheral vision and creating an additional emotional and conceptual layer. The painting shifts from a frontal image to a space of transition and redefinition. My process balances spontaneity and structure. I aim for each work to function as a “place of force” — a space where inner and outer tensions can be consciously experienced, allowing a connection to emerge between personal states and the surrounding world.
