If the buyer is located in a different country, they are responsible for complying with import regulations and paying any customs duties or taxes. As the seller, you must:
- Ensure all required export documents are included.
- Verify that there are no restrictions on exporting the vehicle from your country.
- Inform the buyer of any documents or actions required on their side.
Check with your national registration authority or transport company if you’re unsure which documents are needed for cross-border vehicle shipments.
As a general rule, you'll need to cancel the registration in your country and return the licence plates. You'll also need to issue a proof of ownership transfer with your invoice (if you are a professional seller) or sale contract (if you are a private seller). The buyer will need to cover paperwork costs, unless you've agreed otherwise.
