Package presets: save your shipping settings for faster submissions

What are package presets?

Package presets let you save packaging dimensions and shipping rates you frequently use when submitting objects on Catawiki.

Instead of re-entering box sizes, weights and shipping costs for every object, you can select a saved preset to make submissions faster, more consistent and more accurate.

This feature is especially useful for sellers who regularly ship similar objects, such as collectables, jewellery or artworks.

Why use package presets?

Using package presets helps you:

  • Save time during submission – no need to retype dimensions or shipping costs.
  • Set accurate shipping rates based on tested parcel sizes and carrier pricing.
  • Ensure consistency across all your listings– improving buyer confidence.

How to create a package preset

  1. Go to your Account settings and open the Shipping presets section
  2. Click Create new preset
  3. Add the following:
    • Package name (e.g. Small Box - EU, Fragile Medium Parcel)
    • Dimensions (length, width, height)
    • Weight
    • Shipping cost per region or country
  4. Click Save

Your preset will now be available during lot submission.

How to use a package preset during submission

  1. In the shipping section of your lot submission form, choose Use package preset
  2. Select the preset that best matches your object
  3. The dimensions and shipping cost will auto-fill
  4. Confirm and continue your submission

If you're using Smart Shipping, the label will be generated based on your preset’s dimensions.

Note: buyers will only see the final shipping cost based on your preset – the preset name and dimensions are not shown.

Managing and editing presets

You can manage and update your presets directly during lot submission.

When selecting a preset:

  • The shipping rate, weight and dimensions will auto-fill
  • If you change any of these values and continue with your submission, you’ll see an option to automatically update the selected preset with the new details for future use. If you want to adjust the shipping costs for your submission without updating the preset, make sure to deselect the ‘Update preset if changes are made’ toggle.
  • You can also exclude a preset if you no longer want to use it.

There is no need to update presets manually - they stay aligned with your most recent settings as you submit new objects.

Best practices

  • Create presets for your most common package types:
    • Small, medium, large packages
    • Fragile or bulky packages
  • Include handling costs (e.g. for packaging materials) in your shipping rate
  • Review your presets regularly to ensure they reflect your real shipping experience

In summary

Package presets simplify object submission by allowing you to save, reuse and automatically update your shipping configurations.
They reduce manual input errors, keep your rates aligned with actual shipping costs, and improve the buying experience on Catawiki.
