AI Art submission guidelines

At Catawiki, we recognise Artificial Intelligence as a creative tool — an extension of the artist’s imagination. We welcome AI-generated artworks that reflect meaningful human input, originality, and artistic value.

To ensure quality, only submissions that meet the criteria below will be accepted.

What we accept

AI-generated artworks are eligible if they meet all of the following:

  • Transparency:
    • Clearly state the use of AI at the top of the description and include it in the lot title. Select the appropriate technique (e.g. “AI”, “Digital Art”, “Mixed Media”).
  • Human Creativity:
    • AI must be used as a tool — works must show clear human direction and creative intent.
  • Legal Responsibility:
    • Artists must hold full rights to all inputs (e.g. prompts, datasets) and avoid using copyrighted or trademarked material. Keep a log of your prompts.
  • Medium requirements:
    • Prints: Must be signed, unique (1/1), or signed limited editions. No print-on-demand.
    • Mixed media: AI must be visibly combined with manual techniques (e.g. painting, collage).
  • Size, value & profile:
    • Reserve prices allowed only for works ≥ 100 × 100 cm
    • Minimum estimated value: €100
    • Artist must have a biography with exhibitions, gallery representation or credentials
