Beautiful painting of an old Dutch landscape, with beautiful sight lines going from the water lilies in the foreground to the boat and to the mill on the horizon. Painting is 44 x 33 cm and the frame is 56 x 46 cm. The paintings are in good condition (see pictures). Willem van Dort is the best known painter from Bergen op Zoom, born in Bergen op Zoom in 1875 and died in 1949. Worked in Bergen op Zoom Antwerp, Amsterdam, the Hague and Rotterdam. He had a preference for painting water and sea. Painted frequent the port of Rotterdam and the Oosterschelde. Most recent exhibition: Markiezenhof Historisch Centrum, Bergen op Zoom, in 2010.
