HMS Victory built in Chatham launched in 1765, fought in the battle of Ushant, an outgoing French convoy on its way to America captured 1781 the ship at Trafalgar in 1805 Admiral Nelson died during the battle against the French and Spaniards. The Spanish-French losses amounted to 6953. The English lost 448 men and had 1241 casualties. The HMS Victory was a ship of the line, 2162 tons, had a length of 69 metres, was almost 16 metres wide and had an armament of 2 x 68 pounders, 28 42pnders, 28 12 pounders and 6 6 (pounders) and had a crew of 850 heads. In 1780 the underwater hull got a copper plating. 3923 plates are made there, meant to prevent pole worm and fouling. This model with copper fittings, which you rarely see (costs 200 euros) is very good and nicely finished with lots of details. For example, fire buckets against the after deck. Long 130 cm wide approx 20 cm height 95 cm. A timeless nicely detailed ornament for you, if you wish.
