IWC Cal. 83 sub second -- large model -- men -- around 1940

An unique 14 kt solid yellow gold IWC calibre 83 men's wristwatch with a beautiful after-market leather strap and a matching "gold" coloured metal watch strap. The watch comes with the original International Watch Co. watch box, as shown on the photos (the photos are part of the description). The dial is a so-called "lemon dial". This kind of dial is rare (they've made probably only one other copy). The dial is marked 'International Watch Co.' SCHAFFHAUSSEN under 12 o'clock, it has a "subsecond area" above 6 o'clock. It's marked SWISS MADE under 6 o'clock. The watch case is, considering its age, in a beautiful condition and has wonderful large lugs. It's made from 14 kt solid gold and is marked 14 kt IWC in the back lid. The mechanical hand wind IWC movement has recently been serviced by a watchmaker and keeps correct time. It's marked 'International Watch Co.' Cal. 83 and numbered 1009293. The length of the watch with the new leather watch strap measures: 24 cm The watch case measures 34 x 34 mm, measured without the crown. This was considered as a large watch in the period of its producing. The 14 kt gold watch case weighs (timepiece included, as depicted on the photo) 30 g. Since this is a vintage wristwatch, we don't offer warranty on water resistance, there are some scratches on the plexi. A beautiful, high-valued and unique wristwatch which can be worn around everyone's wrist as a beautiful item of jewellery. The watch will be carefully packaged and shipped registered and insured. Import duties are to be paid by the buyer. Good luck with bidding on this lot.
