Cylinder music box by J.H. Heller - Bern. The music box is numbered and dated in the lid and on the crank handle (4946-1873) and is in a used, functional condition. The box is made of wood with around detailed woodwork and on top of the lid also a large wood carved flower (probably edelweiss). The box is given its high age in a good condition and the flower is also undamaged. I did not dare to remove the dust beneath the flower due to the risk of damage. The music box plays nicely and in good pace, 6 rolls/music-pieces on the mechanism, which are described in the lid. The music and the mechanism run well and switch well on the role. The left handle is for winding. This handle can be moved a few times after it has unwind and then the box will play for quite some time again. It has a 56 tooth-comb of which 5 elements are missing. The box has a lock with key of which the closing-eye in the lid is missing. The music box dates back to late 19th century and the dimensions are: 38 cm wide x 20 cm deep x 14 cm high. The music box will be sent well packed in fabric, bubble-wrap, and a double box. It will be sent registered (parcel 5 to 10 kg).
