A large, detailed seascape of the surf of the North Sea by the Dutch artist Ron Meilof. The painting demonstrates the breaking of the waves on the beach. The high horizon shows the beautiful clouds and six flying gulls. The flood line contains some sea shells spread out across the beach. Condition: the painting was painted on high quality linen and is in excellent condition. The painting is not damaged, not restored and has no crackle. The canvas was mounted on a strong wooden frame and is strung well. The stretcher is not cleared out. Origin: private collection. The painting was bought in December 2004 by our gallery directly from Ron Meilof and was sold to a private collector in January 2005. The certificate of authenticity with a signature by Ron Meilof is included with the painting. Painter Ron Meilof was born on 23 January 1953 in Hilversum and died on 14 February 2016 in Hijken. In his childhood, his creativity and talent for drawing quickly became clear. Moreover, his grandfather Hepke taught him how to draw from a young age. Around his eighteenth birthday, Ron became a hair stylist in the Gooi area. In 1971 he met Dick de Vries (1948). Dick was a professional artist. He taught Ron the techniques of fine-painting. Through his love for nature and the outdoors, he decided in 1975 to move to Drenthe. There he bought a farm to also keep horses. In addition, his other hobbies were photography and playing the guitar. Making photographs of landscapes, seascapes, birds and other animals was very important to his job. In 1992, he joined the Enschede Artists Collective. An Association of the most talented painters in the Netherlands. Ron’s paintings are very detailed and natural. Ron made study trips to Kenya and Tanzania to study African wildlife. Ron Meilof is counted among the world’s best wildlife painters. Shipping method: well-packaged and registered shipping.
