Ornithology - 20 prints of chickens - C. S. Th. van Gink e.a. - Verschillende soorten kippen - ca. 1915

Generally in good condition C. S. Th. van Gink e.a. - Lithographs on page ca. 23x32 cm. Prints ca. 18x25 cm (the pages and images are of difference sizes). One portrait image instead of landscape image, with the same dimensions. Verso: blank. The lithographs were originally an addition to the illustrated weekly magazine 'Avicultura'. The lithographs are numbered in the upper right corner. Edition: Stoomdrukkerij Floralia, Assen. Colour print: fa P.W. M. Trap, Leiden. Most of the lithographs are dated (between 1910 and 1920), some without date, these date probably from a little before 1910 given the numbering. Some lithographs have the monogram of C. S. Th. van Gink, the others are without signature. It is unclear whether the other lithographs are also his. Perhaps there were multiple artists. Condition: generally in good condition with signs of use. The lithographs were original part of the magazine with two vertical folds. These folds are usually not particularly visible. The lithographs often have somewhat worn out margins and corners, with folding and creases. In some places, there are tears in the margin, mostly on the fold lines. Most lithographs with rust spots, also some in the print. There are a few lithographs with clearer signs of wear and tear in the margins and corners. See detailed photos for a proper impression. Cornelis Simon Theodorus van Gink (1890-1968) was a well-known artist of domestic animals, in particular poultry and small pets. His drawings are very detailed and true to nature. Rare! Will be shipped with track & trace.
