High bike in unrestored condition. This bike was built around 1880 and was found in this condition.
I recommend fixing the spokes in the front wheel prior to using it. Some spokes are missing as pictured.
It’s unusual that the front fork consists of two hollow parts next to each other. This is called double-fluted.
This was done to strengthen the fork.
Brands which applied this included Centaur from England, Matchless, Hillman, Herbert & Cooper.
