2 liter Cherry cognac Grand Marnier Lapostolle 1940s/50s

Very impressive 2 liter bottle of Cherry-cognac liquor, very dark colour content, in quite nice condition, maybe missing the red wax seal on the front, but stil holding the cork wax sealing. Visible throught the glass, the cork is stamped "MARNIER" as far as I can see. [Most likely produced before the mid-1950s as it still sold as Cherry-Cognac: when the BNIC made sure that Spain, Italy and the Netherlands stopped selling brandy as "Cognac", they probably told Grand Marnier to stop selling their Cherry brandy as Cherry "Cognac". Although based on Cognac, it is a liqueur. - ES.] Very scarce and hard to find product - see size compared to a standard 70cl Grand Marnier bottle!! (the 70cl is NOT included in this sale) A bit low level, evaporation, bottle guaranteed not leaking. No indication of alcohol content, but probably between 25 and 30% Cherry liquor from Marnier is one of the first liquors produced by Marnier Lapostolle company, founded 1827, and is made exclusively from Morello cherries, a variety from Turkey known for its full flavour. It is a cherry brandy, and has probably been blended with cognac to obtain this product. bottle weight 3,4kg / 43cm high
