Wonderful original oil on canvas by Frans Minnaert (1929-2011). It is rare to find original paintings of this Belgian painter and graphic artist. Very good condition. Dimensions: 55 x 44 cm with the frame. 40 x 30 cm without the frame. Frans Minnaert was born on 4/12/1929 in Idegem (Belgium). As an artist, he attended the Stedelijke Academie van Aalst and the Académie Royale des Beaux Arts in Brussels. Several of his paintings were auctioned in the past by reputable auction houses. Always looking for new experiences, Minnaert takes study trips to Yugoslavia, South Africa and Japan during the 1970s where he also exhibited. He was founder and director of the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten van het Gemeenschapsonderwijs in Anderlecht. During his policy, the academy grew into a school with fame that even crossed the national borders. In the 1970s, Minnaert was awarded the prize of ‘Tekenkust van Kortenberg’, the prize of Young artists in the International Kunstmesse in Basel (Switzerland), and the Graphics Price of Diano Marina (Italy). In 1974, he was selected for the Venice Biennale with the polyptych “Genesis”. Up to the end of his life, Frans Minnaert has painted in his own recognizable way. The oeuvre of Minnaert is in numerous national and international museums and collections. He died on 18/01/2011.
