Mohamed Wandavi was born in Karkuk, Kurdistan (Iraq), in 1945. He arrived in the city of Rome in 1972, where he started collaborating with other painters and enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts. Then, in 1975 he obtained the Swedish citizenship and moved to Stockholm, where he attended the Swedish Art Academy and began to participate in his first exhibitions. He also worked as an art teacher and a decorator at the Royal Swedish theatre in Stockholm. The artist took part in several European exhibitions in towns like Rome, Milan, Venice, Stockholm, New York and Madrid.
