The Melodija factory still exists at Menges in Slovenia (former Czech Republic), it was founded 120 years ago. This guitar is entirely original, the action is fair for an archtop from the 50s: 4mm at the octave. Top, back and sides are in very good condition, no cracks. The tuners are original, they serve their function, but are not comparable to modern machine heads. The neck is playable, 3 parts veneered as there were no truss-rod (in Europe) at that time. The rosewood fingerboard is also in good condition. The tailpiece and adjustable bridge are original, the nets are all well attached, this guitar sounds very nice. Slovenian luthiers were competent, I made no adjustments, only changed the strings for bronze Martin. Well packed secure shipping. Very, very reasonable reserve price.
