(this type was George Harrison’s first guitar) - Nice and low action Egmond was a Dutch guitar manufacturer from the Eindhoven area. The company made different kinds of acoustic, electric and bass guitars from the early 1930s to the early 1970s. At its peak, in the 1960s, thousands of guitars were made per week. Ninety percent of the guitars were exported, mainly to the United States. In addition to guitars, amplifiers and guitar pickups were also manufactured. In 1974, the company went bankrupt, probably due to the large competition from Asia. Egmond guitars were played by celebrities such as Paul McCartney and George Harrison from The Beatles, but also Dutch artists like Rob de Nijs, Peter Koelewijn, The Blue Diamonds and The Tielman Brothers have played Egmond guitars.
