Carmelina Alberino, better known by everyone as Carmelina di Capri, has been a point of reference for the lovers of naïve art on the light blue island for years. She approached painting when she was an adult and almost by chance. She took brushes and colours in hand for the first time when she was 37 years old and started using the colours she had given to her son for entertainment during a period of illness. Her first work depicted the “Palazzo rosso” of Marina Grande in Capri on a wooden panel, the building that, as an attentive and curious child, she had seen for years in the works of a crowd of painters arrived on the island.
