Aat Veldhoen - 11 x rotaprints diverse

11 x Rotaprints by Aat Veldhoen (1934 - 2018) from 1964. Beautiful hard black colours. Veldhoen grew up in Amsterdam. Veldhoen began his career as a draughtsman, but soon established his name as a free artist. Veldhoen likes to make detailed drawings and paintings of dune landscapes, self-portraits, naked women and couples. He bought his first etching press from the royal subsidy for painting, which he received three times in a row around 1956. He later started drawing directly on offset plates to make rota prints. In 1964 Aat Veldhoen learned how to make a rota print (from a rotary press) at METTEN KOORNSTRA. '1964 was for Veldhoen the break-through of the rota print. That year he made no less than 103 of them. The idea for the rota print came from Metten Koornstra, who printed with Piet Clement in a small printing shop, with two lithograph presses and a small offset press. (1st photo is the print 32 x 34 and the damage can be seen on the photos)
