Universal Genève - polerouter date microtor - cal 218-2 - Men - 1950-1959

Gold on steel Mid 1950s Universal Geneve Polerouter date microtor Automatic Watch with highly desirable cal. 218-2 movement - all in very good original condition. Dial reads: "Universal Geneve | Polerouter | Automatic". Back of case has Universal Logo | ". Inside of case back reads: "ACIER INOXYDABLE SWISS". Movement has these markings: "SWISS UNIVERSAL GENEVE | 218-2 | UNADJUSTED 28 JEWELS" The case top is a heavy gold cap showing no signs of wear through. Overall a very nice early Universal Polerouter First introduced in 1954, the Universal Geneve Polerouter became famous for being worn by SAS pilots as they flew the Polar route for the first time in commercial air history. Offered in date and no date versions, the watches came in a variety of dial styles, in gold, steel, and capped. Movement wise, a bumper automatic led things off, but the Microtor cal 215 joined the fray in 1955 as an option. In many ways, I like to think of the Polerouter as a competitor to the Rolex Datejust and the Omega Seamaster. Design by gerald genta Dimensions: Width (including crown): 35 mm Width (excluding crown): 38 mm Distance Between Lugs: 19 mm Lug Tip to Lug Tip: 42 mm Strap Size: 22 cm Crown: not universal but works perfect Attention: the crown is not universal but works perfect! Excellent condition Perfectly working!! Full service!! Shipping united states fedex 3-6 days International shipping DHL international service 6-12 days Return Policy (NO RETURNS) Please check well the images are quite clear, have measurements of the pulses of the dial and watch case, preferably seek buyers experts who know what they are buying, we appreciate the greater honesty in purchasing and receiving packets, no refunds remember what you buy is what you see.
