The last of the “macchiaioli” painters of great artistic depth, who preferred the environments of the Tuscan Maremma with the typical characters: country people, cowherds, old people, laundresses, animals, oxen, horses, sheep and the sea, from which he would never depart, with the rocks of Ardenza, the port of Livorno or the fishermen. A great sportsman, highly regarded in various football teams of Livorno, in swimming and cycling. A quiet character; the world of his collectors slowly led him to be present in various Italian galleries. His works can be found in many private collections.
