Albert Van Hecke (1909-1993) - Scheldeboorden

Beautiful oil on canvas by the Belgian painter Albert Van Hecke (Hamme, 1909-1993). Van Hecke was a self-taught artist, his first exhibition took place in Hamme in 1929 in the Casino hall in the Kerkstraat, he was barely twenty years old at the time. The artists Jef De Boeck (art circle Pogen) and Maurits Tilley can be considered as his mentors. He has mainly exhibited in Waasland, including 49 exhibitions in the exhibition hall of the town hall of Hamme, but his work is kept in public and private collections in Belgium, the U.S.A, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan and England, among others. The painter has always had a thing for nature, with the earth. He was fascinated by the beauty of Hamme and especially the Scheldt, which he went to admire during a daily trip at Drijgoten. Signed and dated 1980, also signed on the back and entitled “Scheldeboorden”. In good condition and framed in a well-maintained frame. There is 1 small bump at the top right (see the detailed photo). Dimensions: With frame: 76 x 66 cm. Without the frame: 60 x 50 cm.
