Alfons Van Meirvenne (° 1932) is a Belgian painter and artist, primarily of animals. He has won several prizes, including the Prix de Rome for Painting in 1961. He paints and sculpts, especially animals. Some of his works are on public property, such as the sculpture 'paard verdedigt veulen', which stands on the Cortewalle domain, 'de drie raven' in Burcht, the Sacred Heart Statue in front of the Haasdonk church and 'Ezelin met veulen' in the domain Puyenbroeck in Wachtebeke. Other works are owned by private collectors, the Belgian State, the province of Antwerp, the Museum of Fine Arts in Ostend, Sheikh Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud in Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia (5) and others.
