Rare gallant couple in polychrome biscuit porcelain, signed Jean Gille called Gille Jeune (1798-1868). This high quality couple wear the blue dots in relief with the initials JG belonging to the Gille Jeune manufacture which was located in Paris rue du Paradis-Poissonnière n°28. At the Paris World's Fair in 1855, Gille was awarded the Legion of Honor and the title of supplier to the Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III.
