Rare gallant couple in polychrome biscuit porcelain, signed Jean Gille called Gille Jeune (1798-1868). This high quality couple wear the blue dots in relief with the initials JG belonging to the Gille Jeune manufacture which was located in Paris rue du Paradis-Poissonnière n°28. At the Paris World's Fair in 1855, Gille was awarded the Legion of Honor and the title of supplier to the Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III. Height: 38 cm - Base diameter: 18 cm - Total weight of both pieces: 4 kg Very good preserved condition, with no restoration. Note: a small chip in the lady's hat - Are missing: the tip of the pencil held by the gentleman - the tip of his little finger - the tip of the sheath of his sword.
