Max Savy (1918 - 2010) - Boote in ländlichem Hafen

On offer is a beautiful painting by French painter Max Savy (1918 - 2010). The work shows a rural harbour with buildings, lighthouse and sailboats in the evening light. The style of the painting is typical of late works of Max Savy according to style and colouring. Note the detail of the motif and the extraordinary colours. The work is neatly framed. Max Savy was born in 1918 in the Corbiéres. In 1938 he went to Carcasonne, where he was taught painting. Until WWII he painted primarily landscape views. After the war, in which Savy fought in the Resistance, he created his most acclaimed works, which are part of the heritage of France. These were mainly sea pieces, for which he was awarded the National Order of Merit in 1973. The frame is included, but does not belong to the offer because of the risk of transport.
