The painter was born in Blainville-sur-l'Eau in 1937. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Nancy, then at Dijon and Paris. Michel Sauval's painting is figurative and is characterised by large splashes of colour, sometimes richer in contrast, depending on the desired effect. Landscapes, still lifes, flowers are the main themes. The artist has exhibited in various provincial cities in Paris and New York. We find his works in the Museum Saint-Dié des Vosges.
