AK 47 bayonet Type 2 DDR with the late model Bayonet with orange hilts, bayonet and scabbard are number matching!!

This is an East German DDR Bayonet with matching scabbard in very good unused and unsharpened condition. Both the bayonet as scabbard are number matching something that does not occur with every AK 47 bayonet/scabbard, they were mostly unnumbered. This is the type II bayonet manufactured from mid 60’s with 2 important changes: - metal end with button to attach it to the AK 47 was still in plastic with type 1 - Instead of the metal scabbard of type 1 the scabbard of type 2 was entirely made out of plastic Due to the developing techniques in plastic production it became possible to make the scabbard of the AK 47 entirely from hardened plastic, which reduced the weight and made the rubber separator which was needed on the type 1 obsolete. One of the identifying characteristics of this bayonet is that because this considers an East German AK47 the leather frog is grey in colour, something you will mainly see in East German DDR AK 47 bayonets The AKM Type II bayonet was manufactured at i.a Bulgaria, China, Iraq, East Germany, Romania, Russia and Yugoslavia.
