"This bike actually means a lot to me. Riding this Cervélo R5 during the Giro d’Italia where I witnessed Koen doing extremely well and winning the mountain classification—riding for him to be able to wear the blue jersey on the podium in Verona. And it is obviously the last bike that I rode during a Grand Tour. Teamwork and results make memories extra valuable. It also means a lot to me that with the auctioning of one of my last official race bikes, I’m able to contribute to the future of cycling. With the proceeds going to the development of young talent within the team."
Through this auction, cycling fans can become the owners of legendary bikes. It provides the unique opportunity to purchase Cervélo bikes that have played a decisive role in the past cycling season, including winning the 2022 Tour de France. The proceeds of this auction will go towards the development of cycling talent.
