Wax scale sketch of Bernini's sculpture ‘The Rape of Proserpine’.
The wax model is the preliminary phase for bronze casting obtained with the lost-wax casting technique.
The patina may change slightly if the object is polished.
The photos however do show the original colour.
The extra dark red parts are probably due to the recycling of a part of wax already used.
The work depicts the abduction of Proserpine by Pluto, god of the Underworld.
The packaging is very accurate and insurance costs are included.
