Arita porcelain vase, hand-painted with the moon night landscape of Arita town, by Fujii Shumei (1936-2017). The oval-shaped body has a long slender neck with a small opening. The item is decorated with the yellow-colored moon and indigo blue trees that are hand-painted by using actual leaves as a stencil. The background is colored in grey and yellow, beautifully contrasting the white clouds. There is a very minor color imperfection on the neck, and some speckles of color imperfection on the bottom. Please see the photos. Fujii Shumei was a notable Arita porcelain artist known for his innovative "Leaf Technique." He used actual leaves as stencils to apply dye to porcelain, creating detailed and realistic depictions of trees and forests. He grew up in Arita, a town known for its porcelain production, and was a descendant of an Arita porcelain family. The item is signed by the artist.
