Sideboard - secretaire - Oak
An oak secretaire probably late 19th century.
The superstructure with a moulded cornice above a glazed door over a small drawer, flanked by banks of four conforming beaded drawers carved with ribbon-tied festoons, the base with a writing slide above an arrangement of seven similarly carved drawers around a kneehole.
An unusual and well-carved piece inspired by late 18th century neo- classical designs. Possibly north European.
