Street scene before Demerdash mosque in the district Demerdache /Cairo ( this moasque is now in the area of El Demerdash Hospital) was executed by good listed Czech orientalist Milos Slovak (1885 in Brno - 1951 Praque). He studied and worked in Praque, pupil of V.Hynais . 10 years lived in America. Travelled to Rome in 1908 and to Egypt. Literature: "Czech Artist´s Lexicon " by Dr. Prokop . Toman, Praque, 1950. Inscription: signed and titled Demerdache lower left. Technique: oil on cardboard. Original period gilt frame. Measurements: unframed w 17 1/8" x h 13" (24 x 32,5 cm), framed w 23 5/8" x h 19 3/4" (35 x 43 cm). Condition: in very good condition.
