Gerdt von Bassewitz, Peterchens Mondfahrt- Ein Marchen. Illustrations by Hans Baluschek. Rebound with new spine using the orignal illustrated /restored boards. New end papers ( back + front) . No date but viewing the size as well the amount of pages it could well be 1929. ( The older edition - as well as later, have 126 pages.) The inside of the book is in good and clean condition- except of 2 pages ( nr. 48 + 148 ) with a small tear. Some foxing in beginning as well as end of the book. Tight binding. The artist, Baluschek was a prominent representative of German Critical Realism, and as such he sought to portray the life of the common people with vivid frankness. His paintings centered on the working class of Berlin. He belonged to the Berlin Secession movement. During his lifetime he was most widely known for his fanciful illustrations of the popular children's book: Peterchens Mondfahrt. Illustrations in black and white and color. Owner inscription. Text in German.
