The 1992 vintage was distilled more than 30 years ago and is still only 8 years old. In 2001, on Islay near Bruichladdich, Highland Park was found to be good and bottled. The choice was made by the then owners of Murray McDavid, who had just taken over the Bruichladdich distillery and would later help it achieve great glory. This double vintage comes from the talented hands of Mark Reynier and his colleagues. Only 671 bottles of this extraordinary whiskey were bottled - here you have more than just a curiosity, but also quite a rarity. Aroma: Fresh lemon zest meets freshly toasted toast with melting butter. The singed toast is accompanied by sweet lychee and a hint of mint. Taste: Grilled pineapple is accompanied by light heather smoke while a match is lit in the distance. Intense vanilla cream comes through underneath, supported by sweet oatmeal cookies with caramel. Finish: Medium long with some naturally cloudy apple juice, lychee, white pepper and more malt.
