As an emanation of Dainichi Nyorai, Fudo Myoo is depicted wielding a sword in his right hand, symbolizing the severance of all mortal ties and impediments to enlightenment. His left hand grasps a rope to bind and subdue negative forces. The fierce deity is also known to grant significant benefits, such as success in life, protection from evil, disaster removal, and assured victory in endeavors. This statue is deeply revered across various Japanese Buddhist sects and the Shugendo tradition.
