Victorian jasperware "Fox hunt" teapot of round baluster form. Royal blue ground with fine cream-coloured sprigging depicting a detailed scene of horseback riders peering over a fence as a pack of dogs attacks the fox. The ornate foliage includes trees in the main panel, applied acanthus leaves to the lid and a flower border to the lower part of the body. Made by Copeland Spode, England. Small chip to the underside of the spout; tiny crack to the base of the spout; small dark mark in one spot.
