PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s). 2010 Warre's Unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage Port 4 x 0.75L DESCRIPTION Founded in 1670, Warre’s is the first and the oldest British port company established in Portugal. By the end of the 18th century, Warre’s had become one of the leading port companies, shipping 2,937 pipes in 1791, 10% of the total sold by 21 companies in that year. The Warre’s name is synonymous with the history of the British in Porto. Warre’s continues to be famous for its Vintage Ports, a reputation which began with its very fine late nineteenth and early twentieth century Vintages. This legacy has endured into the 21st century with the outstanding 2000, 2007, 2011 and 2016 Vintage Ports. The Warre's 2016 Vintage Port was awarded the No#14 spot in The Wine Spectator's prestigious Top 100 Wines of 2018, the highest ranking Portuguese wine. Today Warre's sources its grapes from the beautiful Quinta da Cavadinha in the Pinhão Valley, as well as Quinta do Retiro, Quinta da Telhada, Quinta do Alvito and Quinta das Netas. Warre's signature style is floral, fresh and elegant, reflecting the particular characteristics of these higher altitude vineyards. WINEMAKER: Charles Symington. AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS 92 Points Wine Enthusiast 92 pontos Robert Parker 18 Points Vinho Grandes Escolhas 17,5 Points Revista de Vinhos WINE VARIETIES: Old Vines. VINIFICATION Warre's 2010 Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) aged in wood for four years, having been bottled in 2014 without filtering. It then aged in bottles for eight years in the Warre's cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. This prolonged aging, first in wood and then in the bottle, is fundamental for the development of the sumptuous nose and flavors that give this Port a style and complexity similar to that of Vintage Port. TASTING NOTES Lifted and intensely fresh blackcurrant and black cherry aromas, wrapped in secondary notes of mint and pine resin. Succulent, concentrated palate, simultaneously rounded and silky smooth. This wine is pure seduction, with alluring flavours of blackberry and cacao, punctuated by peppery tannins that provide a spicy and firm structure. Irresistible to drink now, though it has bags of life left in it. SERVING As the wine is unfiltered, it will create a natural deposit and therefore must be decanted before serving. Excellent with sweet desserts, dark chocolate or blue cheeses. Store in a horizontal position, in a cool and dry place, protected from light and temperature fluctuations. Serve at a temperature between 15ºC and 16ºC.
