DESCRIPTION
This is a very beautiful Kutani ware vase.
This piece was exhibited at a solo exhibition held in 1988.
Shinya Matsuura is a Kutani ware artist who studied under Isokichi Asakura, a director of the Nitten Exhibition. His style, which leverages the deep greens of traditional Kutani to depict nature and motifs, conveys a sense of strength with an underlying gentleness. He has been selected for numerous art exhibitions and has devoted his efforts to solo exhibitions at department stores and art salons, actively working as a Kutani ware artist.
